Wilson County 72-Hour Release Route
The official Wilson County Sheriff page offers jail contact information and a direct VINE route. It does not offer a 72-hour, three-day, weekly, or archived release list. There is no public control for selecting a date window, and no county page states how long released names remain visible. Because Wilson also lacks a public 24-hour feed, three daily lists cannot be combined into a county-backed 72-hour view.
The practical substitute is a narrow records search. Write down the first and last calendar dates, identify the person when known, and ask for existing jail-register or booking-out entries within that range. Use VINE for near-term custody awareness. Then compare the result with the Sheriff’s record and the correct court file. This sequence addresses three days without claiming that Wilson County maintains a list it does not publish.
Request Wilson County Three-Day Releases
A focused request should name the governmental body, identify the three calendar dates, and describe existing records. The Sheriff is not required to build a custom 72-hour spreadsheet if no such list is maintained. A request can instead seek register entries and booking-out forms that already exist. When one person is the focus, include a full name and date of birth or booking number. A cause number, arresting agency, or approximate age can reduce false matches.
- Set the exact start and end dates rather than asking for “recent releases” without a boundary.
- Search the named person through the Wilson-linked Texas VINE service and record the status, agency, and event date shown.
- Call Wilson County Jail at 830-393-2535 to confirm the current written-request method; no dedicated online form or records hours are posted.
- Request existing jail-register entries, booking-out sheets, and release or transfer orders for the date range.
- Ask for the release or transfer time, type, and receiving agency or destination if those fields are recorded.
- Use the case or cause number to select the County Clerk, District Clerk, or other court with jurisdiction.
Ask for electronic copies and an estimate before costs are incurred. Wilson County has not posted a flat release-record fee. Texas Public Information Act charges and procedures depend on the work and copies involved. Narrowing the people, dates, and record series makes the request clearer and helps the office find the right material.
Note: A three-date request seeks existing records; it should not direct staff to calculate or create a new release list.
Wilson County 72-Hour Release Fields
Since no online Wilson County list displays feed columns, these are fields to request from the durable record series. The register contains core intake and departure data. The detailed file may add time, disposition, order, and destination facts. Availability can vary, and the Sheriff may redact information protected by law.
| Requested field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name, date of birth, and intake number | Identifies the person and separates similar names. |
| Booking date and time | Shows the start of the local jail event, not release. |
| Charge and cause number | Connects the jail entry to the court with jurisdiction. |
| Release or transfer date and time | Places the departure within the requested three-day window. |
| Disposition or release type | May state the recorded basis, such as bond, time served, or court order. |
| Destination or receiving agency | Shows whether custody continued with another authority. |
| Release or transfer order | Documents the authority supplied to the jail. |
A three-day result should keep release and transfer distinct. Someone sent from Wilson County Jail to TDCJ has left the local facility but remains incarcerated. A person transferred under an ICE detainer has left county custody but may enter immigration detention. The receiving-agency field is therefore as important as the departure date.
Wilson County Weekend Release Windows
A 72-hour window is useful around weekends because it covers more than one calendar day. Yet Wilson County publishes no official weekend release schedule, holiday procedure, routine discharge time, or processing cadence. Do not assume a court order entered on one day means the jail exit happened that day. Staff may need to validate the order, check identity, review other holds, complete records, and return property before departure.
Use dates, not an assumed “weekend list.” If the period crosses Friday through Sunday, state all three dates in the request. If a holiday shifts office operations, confirm the Sheriff’s current submission method by phone. A court docket can show when judicial action occurred, but the jail’s release or transfer time is the key physical-exit record.
Can a 72-hour request prove the person went home? Only if the returned records support community release. A departure paired with another custodian is a transfer.
Wilson County Release Archives Stay Available
The lack of an online archive does not erase the government record. Texas Local Schedule PS requires a county jail register to be retained permanently. That register includes each committed person’s name, gender, intake number, reason committed, and release or transfer date. Detailed booking-in, booking-out, commitment, transfer, and release-order documents generally remain until at least two years after release or transfer.
This distinction matters after a three-day period ends. A web window, if one existed, could roll forward and drop old entries. Wilson’s retained records can still answer the date question later. Retention is not the same as automatic public access, and it does not override confidentiality, expunction, nondisclosure, or other restrictions. It does mean the right fallback is a focused Sheriff request rather than an unsupported third-party list.
The source capture below shows the state retention schedule that makes this fallback durable.

The schedule supports a lasting release-or-transfer date record even though Wilson County provides no public three-day screen.
Confirm Wilson County Release Dispositions
The jail record and court record answer different questions. The jail’s timed entry shows when Wilson County Jail acted. The court file may show the bond order, dismissal, plea, judgment, sentence, credit, revocation, or other legal event behind that action. A court calendar only shows scheduled activity, so a filed order or final disposition is stronger. Even then, court paperwork is not a substitute for the physical release time.
Use the correct jurisdiction. Wilson County Clerk handles its stated Class A and B misdemeanor and appealed Class C scope. The District Clerk is the felony and district route. Lower courts retain their own cases. Regional 81st and 218th District Court dockets cover five counties, so confirm that any entry belongs to Wilson County before matching it to a jail departure.
If the exact release was today, the Wilson County 24-Hour Releases route keeps the same-day check tight. When a person rather than a date range is the main concern, the Wilson County released-inmate lookup explains which custody system to use.
Interpret Wilson County Three-Day Releases
VINE can report release or out of custody for a participating county record. Pair that status with the Sheriff’s entry when the exact time, type, or next custodian matters. A “not found” response is weaker. It can arise from spelling, feed delay, transfer, a different agency, system scope, or restricted visibility. Determine which agency last held the person before drawing a conclusion.
| Three-day finding | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| VINE event falls inside the dates | Use it as a recent-status lead and request the timed Sheriff entry. |
| Release order falls inside the dates | Confirm when jail staff completed the physical exit. |
| TDCJ current record follows Wilson custody | Treat the local exit as a likely state transfer, not final release. |
| No result in any public search | Confirm identity, last custodian, date range, and durable agency records. |
Federal and immigration systems remain separate. BOP’s locator handles federal Bureau of Prisons custody. ICE ODLS handles civil immigration custody. A USMS pretrial detainee may require the federal court docket and actual holding facility. None of these sources becomes a Wilson County 72-hour feed merely because the person has a local connection.
The narrow Texas sex-offender registry is also not a substitute for a three-day release list. It applies only when registration law covers the person, and it does not provide Wilson County Jail’s exit time. Likewise, episodic news can report one arrest or jail event without accounting for all departures in the date window. The source hierarchy remains the same: Sheriff release or transfer entry for the local event, filed court record for the legal reason, and the receiving custodian’s record when confinement continues.
Note: Keep the source agency beside each date so a county exit is not mistaken for release from all custody.
