Search Wilson County Released Inmates

Wilson County released inmates may leave the jail after a court-approved release, completion of a local term, or transfer to another custodian. A Wilson County released inmate search must therefore do more than check whether a name vanished from a live custody system. Wilson County released inmates are best confirmed through a dated custody event, the Sheriff’s release or transfer record, and the court file that explains the legal result. State prison, federal, and immigration custody each use a different search path. Those distinctions help families reconnect, confirm a departure, and avoid mistaking a transfer for freedom from custody.

Wilson County Release Outcomes

“Released” describes an exit from a particular custodian, not one universal legal outcome. A person may leave Wilson County Jail after bond is satisfied, a judge orders release, a sentence ends, time already served is credited, or a case is dismissed. The person may also leave because TDCJ, another county, a federal authority, or immigration custody takes control. That last group has departed the Wilson County facility but remains confined. The date, type, and receiving agency in the jail record matter far more than a missing name.

Parole and mandatory supervision are also forms of release from TDCJ confinement into supervised status. They do not erase the sentence. Probation, called community supervision in Texas records, is ordered by a court and may occur without a prison term. A discharge is another event: it generally marks the end of the sentence or supervision obligation. Wilson County release records should preserve these labels because they guide the next search.

Time served
A court disposition that credits time already spent in custody toward a sentence.
Transfer
Movement to another custodian, not release into the community.
Parole
Conditional release from TDCJ confinement under state supervision.
Discharge
Completion of the sentence or supervision obligation.

Wilson County Release Record Fields

The most durable local proof is the county jail register. Texas Local Schedule PS, item PS4200-06, describes a register for every person committed to a county jail. It includes the person’s name, gender, intake number, reason committed, and release or transfer date. Wilson County’s more detailed booking and release file may add the timed exit, the order used by staff, and the receiving agency. Not every field appears in every file, and lawful redactions may apply.

FieldWhat it establishes
Full name and date of birthWhich person the Wilson County record concerns.
Intake or booking numberThe local jail event tied to the request.
Booking date and timeEntry into the jail process, not the release time.
Charge and cause numberThe link to the court file and committing authority.
Release or transfer date and timeThe recorded exit from Wilson County Jail.
Disposition or release typeWhether the file records bond, time served, court release, or another result.
Destination or receiving agencyWhether another custodian followed the county exit.
Release order and bond dataThe authority staff used when completing the release.

The court file answers a related but different question. It can show a bond order, dismissal, plea, judgment, sentence, credit, or revocation. It may explain why release was authorized, yet it does not usually show when jail staff finished identity checks, hold review, property return, and the physical exit. Strong verification pairs the Sheriff’s timed record with the filed order.

A booking photograph may be part of the underlying file, but its existence, retention, online publication, and disclosure are separate questions. Wilson County does not expose a photo gallery on the reviewed Sheriff page. Texas Local Government Code chapter 140 addresses affirmative agency publication of booking photos; it is not a blanket exemption from a focused public-information request. Ask for the existing image with the booking and release documents, and let the Sheriff identify any law that restricts access.

Note: A court order date and a physical Wilson County Jail release time may differ because staff must finish required processing.

Request Wilson County Release Records

The Texas Public Information Act governs requests for existing government records. Wilson County’s Sheriff page does not post a dedicated public-information form, records email, fee schedule, or records hours. Call the Sheriff at 830-393-2535 to confirm the current written submission route. The Longview post-office box shown for inmate mail is not a supported public-records address.

  1. Identify the person by full name and date of birth, booking number, cause number, or a narrow date range.
  2. Ask for the existing permanent jail-register entry and available booking-out or release documents.
  3. Request the release or transfer date and time, recorded disposition, receiving agency, order, property-return record, and booking photo if they exist.
  4. Ask for electronic copies and an itemized estimate before costs are incurred.
  5. If records are withheld, keep the stated exception or Attorney General ruling information for review.

The law requires prompt handling, but ten business days is not a fixed production deadline. An agency may produce the records, set an access date, identify no responsive record, or seek an Attorney General decision when withholding is at issue. Under Government Code section 552.2615, an itemized estimate process applies when anticipated charges exceed $40. No Wilson booking or photo fee was found, so a requester should not assume a flat amount.

The Attorney General’s request guidance explains how to describe existing records. A focused request is more useful than asking staff to write a narrative about why someone left. The record itself should show the available dates, order, and destination.

Wilson County Release Record Retention

Website visibility and government retention are not the same. Wilson County publishes no release archive or website retention period on the reviewed Sheriff interface. By contrast, Texas Local Schedule PS makes the county jail register permanent. The underlying booking-in, booking-out, commitment, transfer, and release-order documents generally have a minimum retention of release or transfer plus two years. Property receipt and return records carry the same general minimum.

Retention does not mean that all fields must be online or released without review. Juvenile data, victim identifiers, medical information, confidential criminal-history material, active-law-enforcement information, and court-restricted records can require redaction or withholding. Government Code section 552.108(c) preserves basic information about an arrested person, arrest, or crime, but it does not turn every narrative or image into an automatic disclosure.

Important: A blank online result does not erase a permanent Wilson County jail-register entry. Request the originating record and ask which law controls any withheld part.

When Wilson County Bond Delays

Bond posted does not always mean the person has completed release. A regional standing order that applies in Wilson County addresses a narrow situation involving a new felony allegation while the defendant is already on bail for a felony in the same county. Under its application of Code of Criminal Procedure article 17.027, release authority may be limited to the earlier court or that court’s written designee. The order adds a further limit for its covered murder category.

This local rule supplies a concrete reason to separate the bond event from the jail exit. Staff still must receive valid authority, identify the person, review other holds, and finish release work. VINE may later show a status event, while the jail register supplies the recorded release or transfer date. The right court file explains the order that controlled the result.

Wilson County Release Court Trail

Wilson County’s lasting case trail is split by jurisdiction. The County Clerk handles the office’s stated Class A and B misdemeanor cases and appealed Class C matters. It does not handle felony or juvenile cases. The District Clerk is the route for felony and district records. The Wilson County Court at Law posts its own criminal calendars, while justice and municipal matters may stay with their own lower courts.

The 81st and 218th District Court docket portal spans Atascosa, Frio, Karnes, La Salle, and Wilson counties. Confirm the county before relying on an entry. Calendars and dockets show scheduled or filed court activity, not the physical jail exit. Use the cause number from the Wilson County release record to reach the correct file, then compare its order or final disposition with the Sheriff’s timed event.

Note: County Clerk, District Clerk, lower-court, and regional docket results serve different jurisdictions and should not be treated as one release ledger.

Wilson County Release Record Visibility

Texas expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure chapter 55A and nondisclosure under Government Code chapter 411 can change public visibility. Expunction eligibility depends on the arrest and disposition. Dismissal alone does not make every matter eligible. Nondisclosure generally limits public access while preserving authorized access; it is not destruction. Either order can help explain why an older Wilson County result no longer appears, but the order must be read to know what it covers.

Wilson County has an unusually useful local clue. The District Clerk’s expunction-notice list identifies the Sheriff’s Office entry as including the jail and warns that the correct magistrate should be included when applicable. One arrest can therefore create records at the jail, Sheriff, clerk, prosecutor, and magistrate. A later blank result in one repository cannot establish expunction, nondisclosure, or release on its own.

Find Wilson County Released Inmates

Start with the last agency that actually held the person. Wilson County has no official browsable current roster, 24-hour release list, 72-hour archive, or release gallery on the reviewed Sheriff page. The Sheriff instead links to county-specific Texas VINE. VINE can supply a recent custody-status event, while the permanent jail register and booking-out file provide the durable local record.

  1. Open the Sheriff-linked Texas VINE service and search the named person.
  2. Compare the available age, sex, agency, facility, or identifier before selecting a same-name record.
  3. Record the exact custody status, reporting agency, and event date shown.
  4. Ask the Wilson County Sheriff for the jail-register entry and release or transfer documents.
  5. Use the cause number and charge level to select the correct Wilson court.
  6. If another custodian is named, continue in TDCJ, BOP, ICE, or that county’s system.
Important: “Not found” is not proof of release. A spelling change, delayed feed, transfer, expunction, different custodian, or limited search scope can yield the same result.

For a focused view of the local facility, the Wilson County Jail release record page explains its contact and custody routes. The core rule remains simple: get a dated exit from the last custodian, determine whether a new custodian followed, and use the court or supervision record to explain the legal status.

Wilson County Release Search Routes

Each system answers only for its own custody. A person can leave Wilson County Jail and enter TDCJ, ICE, federal, or another county custody on the same chain of events. The word “released” should always be tied to the agency that reported it.

A federal pretrial detainee held for the U.S. Marshals Service may not yet have a useful BOP locator record. Use the federal court docket and actual holding facility. The Texas DPS registry is also narrow. It applies only when registration law covers the person and does not establish the Wilson jail release time.

Dates must also keep their labels. A booking time marks entry, a court-order date marks judicial action, and the jail release time marks the local exit. For TDCJ, parole eligibility only permits consideration, while a projected date is a calculation and scheduled fields appear later in processing. None should be rewritten as an actual release without confirmation from the responsible custodian.

Wilson County Release Notifications

The Wilson County Sheriff’s official page directs users to Texas VINE site 44900. Search a specific person, compare identifiers, and register only through the contact methods offered by the live service. If the service reports release or out of custody, ask the Sheriff for the release or transfer entry when the precise type, time, or destination matters. A VINE event does not say whether bond, time served, dismissal, or transfer caused the change.

State-prison notifications use a separate layer. TDCJ’s confidential Integrated Victim Services System can provide notices for parole eligibility, Board decisions, movement, upcoming release, and discharge. Parole means supervised release from TDCJ; Wilson County probation is court-ordered community supervision handled locally. A person may be on probation without a TDCJ prison release. The Wilson County post-release supervision information distinguishes the Board, Parole Division, and Adult Probation roles.

Wilson County Release Facility Names

Wilson County has one verified local detention facility for this release map: Wilson County Jail, operated by the Sheriff’s Office. County budget wording may call the responsible department “Criminal Justice Center (Jail).” A separate project uses the similar name District Criminal Justice Center, but the official project brochure describes court and justice offices with a sally port for secure inmate movement from the Sheriff.

The project is not a second jail. It has no separate release desk or custody search in the source material. A person moved from Wilson County Jail to court has not been released merely because the destination is called a justice center. The Sheriff jail record remains the custody source, and the court file documents the proceeding.

Wilson County Release Facility

Wilson County Jail, at 800 10th Street, Unit 2 in Floresville, is the only verified detention facility in the local map. It holds county detainees under the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office. A departure can lead to community release, completion of a local term, or transfer to another custodian. The permanent register and detailed release file should identify the exit date and, when recorded, the next agency.

No official TDCJ prison, BOP institution, or ICE detention center was identified within Wilson County. A Wilson-connected person may still enter those systems after transfer. The physical location of the court case does not change which agency’s locator and release record controls.
